Refusal for 56 houses at Tipton St John - appeal inquiry looms

Tuesday, 22 November 2011 0 Comments by Claire

An application that was refused earlier this year at Tipton St John, for 56 houses, has had its date for appeal confirmed.

The Devonshire Homes application on land between Otter Close and Mallocks Close, was refused by East Devon District Council in the spring.

A public inquiry appeal will take place at EDDC offices, Knowle, starting on Tuesday 6 December at 10am.  It is expected to continue for three days.

In response to the reasons for refusal, the developer claims the following:

- the development is keeping with the village and neighbours will not be adversely affected
- the land is not remote from adequate services
- the development would not harm the natural beauty of the area

Residents are welcome to speak at the inquiry and are requested to register on 6 December prior to 10am to do this.
