Ottery’s Lloyds Bank mobile bank gets up and running as the branch closes

Wednesday, 03 October 2018 0 Comments by Claire

Ottery’s branch of Lloyd’s Bank will very sadly, will close next Wednesday (10 October).

The cash machine will also be out of use from that date.

Lloyds is the last bank in the town to close and will leave a gaping hole in the town’s infrastructure, in my view.

As a replacement Lloyds are now providing a mobile branch service from the Land of Canaan car park on the following days:

Monday:  1.00pm to 3.15pm
Wednesday : 10.00am to 12.00 noon

Lloyds will monitor the transactions and depending on use are willing to consider other days and the hours the mobile branch is open.

The mobile branch will have disabled access.

I am told by the Business Forum that it has been difficult to find a central location but agreement has been reached with EDDC to locate the mobile branch at The Land of Canaan Car Park.

Lloyds say they would consider another location if one could be found that’s more central.

Services available at the mobile branch include cash withdrawals of up to £300, deposits of up to £5,000, 10 bags of coins, and payment of bills and transfers.
Ottery’s Business Forum have a review of the mobile service, with Lloyds representatives, in December.
