Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has. Margaret Mead

***The future of Aylesbeare - meeting ***

Wednesday, 23 November 2011 0 Comments by Claire

A meeting is being organised in the new year to allow Aylesbeare residents a chance to comment on East Devon District Council’s Local Plan.

Representatives of Aylesbeare Parish Council will be asking residents what they think of proposals to grow the village by around 50 houses over the next 15 years.

The village is one of a handful in East Devon which is keen to grow larger than the five percent growth allocated by East Devon District Council.

A parish plan put together several years ago, showed that the majority of residents were in favour of growth in order to give the village ‘a heart’.

It is likely that Aylesbeare Parish Council will be asked to develop a Neighbourhood Plan to bring forward any extra development.

The meeting will take place on Wednesday 4 January at 7.30pm.  Please come and give your view.
